We are Family is growing. Alongside our local and online support groups for parents, we run regular webinars, thematic groups and are developing a podcast among other projects to offer even more support to our members.
We started on a shoestring budget, with adopters meeting up to give each other support from the basis of their lived experience. This sense of community is still at the heart of everything that we do, but we’ve needed to expand our funding to meet the growing demand for our work throughout the UK.
It’s important to us that we keep membership free. This means that we’re accessible to anyone who needs us and there are no barriers to entry. We’ve done this thanks to the amazing support of funders such as The Tudor Trust, City Bridge Trust, The Fore and Adopt London, but now we need to make sure we’re as secure as possible, so we can continue to offer our valuable services and be the growing community that adoptive parents need us to be. That’s where you come in.
Help with a regular donation
Our members are at the heart of everything we do. We’re growing and developing our services in line with the needs identified by our membership.
We’re now asking that any member or supporter who feels able to, becomes a Friend of We Are Family with a gift of £5 per month or whatever you can afford.
Regular gifts help to give us security and ensure that we can plan for the future. We’re passionate about keeping membership free and those who feel able donating on a regular basis will help us to do this.
A growing community
With the input of our members and volunteers, We Are Family has been growing its services and reach. It’s an exciting time for our charity and we’ve launched our new look for our website and other communications to better reflect who we are and what we do.
As we work on more partnerships with other charities and adoption agencies and as we develop new ways to support our members, we need to ensure we have the financial resources to match our ambition.
