Parent support groups take place either face to face in comfortable surroundings over a cuppa on a weekday evening, or online, in the comfort of your own home. Most local groups host them monthly, while some host them every other week.
These sessions are strictly for adoptive parents (from matching onwards) and provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to to reflect of adoptive parenthood with like-minded parents. We offer support, but not advice.
The sessions are free. In the sessions we adhere to a set of ground rules, which can be found here.
The single adopters amongst us have formed their own groups in North London and South London, which meet monthly. There is a creche available for these groups.
Prospective adopters are advised to join the pan-London group for prospective adopters (from approval at stage 2 onwards).
Please contact your local WAF groups for more information.
